About Us

Phil started out in a bike shop in 1979, in East Grinstead—just a Saturday boy, tackling punctures and all the grubby jobs. He loved the Viscounts, the Falcons, the Dawes. Then, one Saturday, a local bike racer rolled in with a Colnago—a Cr-Mo classic. Phil was in love.

His passion for bikes runs deeper than just riding; he’s always been fascinated by how they work—the why, the who, the tech. The changes since the days of 1-inch steel tubing have been staggering. From electric-assist bikes to Di2, SRAM Red AXS, and Eagle groupsets, from 5-speed setups to 12-speed (with 13-speed cassettes just around the corner), and even 53-tooth rear cogs—the evolution has been immense. Today, there’s a bike for everyone.

Fast forward 45 years, countless miles, and a lifetime of races and events—Tour de l'Étape, PBP, Audax, Gravel, MTB, circuit racing—Phil has done it all. And he’s always fixed his own bikes because, well, he’s always managed to break them!

Whether you bring the replacement components or we supply them, we stay ‘on brand’ to ensure absolute certainty and safety.

We can collect your bike and drop it off when the service is complete!

FAQs

What Kind Of Bikes Do You Service And Fix?

We service and repair all bikes, trikes, recumbents, tandems, mtb, mountain bikes, downhill, uphill and racing, touring Audax, Dutch, X and many more.

Which Service Is For Me?

You choose; we think you probably know what to ask for. Call for a chat, we can help here, safety is always paramount, so if you haven’t ridden your bike in months a thorough check-up is a good starting point.

What Does The Assessment Service Entail?

We will make a safety assessment of your bike and advise you on the options.

Can I Drop Off?

You can drop off by appointment, call or message us to arrange a time, we are often out riding on road, trail or on the Moor.

Can You Collect & Deliver?

We will make a safety assessment of your bike and advise you on the options.

Do You Sell Bikes & Spares?

We service and repair bike, we aren’t a retail outlet. We supply replacement parts or upgrade parts, we stay ‘on brand’. We will fit your replacement parts but we won’t warranty them if they are copies or cheap versions of branded goods.

Do You Service eBikes?

We will service and repair out of Warranty e bikes, We aren’t a Warranty provider.

Do You Do eBike Conversions?

Yes, we do Swytch, EZ -rider and several other brands, talk to us prior to ordering your e bike conversions kit, not all conversion kits are born equal! Spare parts for these kits are a big issue these days. Adding a motor is a great way to take the ‘burn’ out of some of those Devon hills, extend your range and have a great day out.

When Will I Get My Bike Back?

This is a subject to workload, availability of parts and postage, these variables can cause delays. Many replacement parts are available in 2 -4 days. Others are special order, we will advise you once we know.

How Long Does An Inspection Take?

You will need to leave your bike with us. We often need to soak parts in penetrating oil prior to attempting to undo various bits. Expect minium 1-2 days depending on hoew busy we are.
